Darren Talbot Cricket Coaching was set up in April 2007.

For the previous 13 years owner Darren Talbot worked in the Mutual Fund industry in Marketing and latterly as an Investment Analyst for New Star Asset Management.

In 2004, Darren set up the Youth Academy for Cobham Avorians Cricket Club in Surrey where he is now Director of Youth Coaching.

Having coached more and more often since that time, Darren decided to give up the City life in January 2007 in favour of teaching cricket to young people full time. For many years he felt disappointed how few children played cricket regularly in schools, particularly state schools, and decided to do something about it himself. At the same time Darren started running cricket parties to try to help reduce the monopoly football seemed to have in the children's party market.

By the start of 2008, Darren Talbot Cricket Coaching were working in 12 schools in South East England with Kent, Wiltshire and East Anglia regions being opened early in 2008.

The Cobham Avorians Academy is now thriving with over 80 members, 9 volunteer coaches and teams in the West Surrey Youth Cricket League at Under 14 and Under 12 age groups in addition to a girl's Under 13 League team.
