Surrey Coaches

Anthony Ball

Coach Anthony Ball

Anthony is a UKCC2 qualified cricket coach. He currently still plays for Chobham CC in the Fuller's Surrey League at the tender age of 37.

His cricketing pedigree includes the Royal Grammar School High Wycombe, St John's College, Durham and the Buckinghamshire Young Amateurs. He is also an ECB ACO level 2 Umpire and has umpired many Surrey District games in the last two years.

He has also managed to fit in a fifteen year career in Human Resources, where he has specialised in Graduate recruitment and development.

Neil Bunting

Coach Neil Bunting new

Neil is a UKCC Level 2 qualified coach. He played for junior Nottinghamshire representative sides and Combined Universities Select XIs. More recently he has played senior club cricket in Middlesex and Surrey. He has coached at local schools and clubs and has run various holiday courses. He is currently a coach at Epsom Cricket Club.

Neil is also a qualified Football and Rugby Union coach.

David Barter

David is a UKCC2 qualified coach. He is based in Woking and plays at Woking and Horsell Cricket Club together with his two sons. He is coaching co-ordinator at the club.

He has concentrated his coaching on younger players and has recently worked for Woking Borough Council and Sport for All coaching in schools and in school holiday camps.

Previously he has coached and managed a Chance to Shine project in primary schools. He strongly believes that all children can enjoy sport if it is presented properly.

David has also been involved in cricket administration at county level.

Coach David Barter

Elliot Chmielinski - East Surrey Area Co-ordinator

Elliot has been coaching since he was 16. He is a qualified ECB Level 2 coach.

Elliot has a big impact on colt’s cricket at Beddington Cricket Club, where he runs two age group teams as well as playing his own cricket. He has worked within the Chance 2 Shine cricket scheme for two years, bringing cricket into schools.

Elliot has also completed an apprenticeship course with Cricket 4 Change who work with children with disabilities. He was last year shortlisted and made the final three for Surrey Young Coach of the Year.

He is currently Studying for a sports coaching degree at UWIC in Cardiff. In the future Elliot would like to work as a teacher or set up his own cricket academy.

Coach Elliot Chmielinski

Simon Clifton - West Surrey Area Co-ordinator

Simon has played club cricket for many years at Send, Pyrford and Westminster and captained the 1st XI whilst at Aston University.
 
He is a UKCC2 qualified coach who has delivered a variety of sessions for most colts age-groups in a number of different schools and cricket clubs.
 
Simon has also worked on the Chance to Shine initiative and feels that encouraging those who would otherwise not get the opportunity to play cricket is vitally important to the well-being of the game.

Richard Cook

Coach Richard Cook

Richard Cook is an ECB Level 2 cricket coach who has been coaching for 8 years. He also has a Sports Coaching Science degree and has plans to do his UKCC level 3 at the end of 2010.

Richard has coached Surrey Development Courses and was a coach on the Outer London District Programme. He plays his cricket at Chessington CC and has coached all their colts teams ranging from U8's to U16's and is also lead coach on their Chance to Shine Project.

Richard throughly enjoys coaching all ages and abilities and finds every session different and exciting with a particular interest in encouraging children with disabilities to enjoy their cricket.

Simon Dillsworth

Simon has 20 years of cricket playing experience and has captained Old Emanuel's 1st XI for the past 4 years in Surrey Championship Division 2.

He is a UKCC2 qualified coach who has delivered a variety of sessions on Surrey Cricket's junior development programs.

As Head Coach of Old Emanuel's junior 'Tigers' section, Simon has overseen the growth of this section over the last 2 years and is currently leading the club's drive towards attainment of the ECB's Clubmark Accreditation.

In addition to playing and coaching cricket, Simon also plays rugby for Old Emanuel's 1st XV and undertakes a number of charitable and voluntary activities.

Coach Simon Dillsworth

Thomas Dunn

Tom is a UKCC Level 1 qualified coach and one of our fast-track young coaches.

Prior to achieving his level 1, Tom has been coaching assistant at local schools to gain invaluable experience.

Tom plays his cricket for Surrey Championship ECB Premier Division team Cobham Avorians where he is a member of the Development League Academy side and has previously been captain of his age group team.

Coach Thomas Dunn

Stuart Guy-Fowler

Stuart has been playing senior cricket since the age of 13 and has just completed his 50th season in the game.

He has played cricket all over England, including in the Midlands, Yorkshire, Lancashire, Lincolnshire and now in Surrey.

Stuart captained every side that he regularly played for. Stuart first became qualified as a cricket coach in 1985 when he attended a course held in Warwickshire.

He has focused on his coaching in the last couple of years and in 2009 he helped set up the Junior Section of West End (Esher) and has coached regularly since obtaining his Level 2 qualification in April last year.

John Fry

John is an opening batsman who played for Surrey 2nd XI and had trials with Somerset 2nd XI. He also played for Dulwich, Mitcham, Sutton and now Purley. Currently second highest run scorer in the Surrey Championship with over 18,000 1st XI runs.

He represented the Club Cricket Conference and toured Singapore, Australia, Hong Kong, Barbados, Trinidad and Tobago. John had two seasons in South Africa playing for Capetown C.C and two seasons in Australia playing in New South Wales for Merewether C.C and Hamilton Wickham C.C.

John was awarded Senior Coaching Certificate from the National Cricket Association. He coached at the Alf Gover Cricket School for 6 months, then worked with Neil Stewart (Alec Stewart’s brother) at The Hurlingham Club during school holidays.

Currently coaching Purley Colts and the Chance to Shine schools coaching programme.

Coach John Fry
